Information to help students find, evaluate, reference, and write for their assignments

What are databases?

The Library databases are a great place to go to find information for your assignments. In fact, they should in most cases be the first place you look!

The information experts in the Library have selected a range of quality databases relevant to whatever you're  studying at Wintec. This means you can be confident the information you find in the databases is reliable, authoritative, and suitable for your assignments!

Often your tutor will suggest you read and gather information from academic journal articles to use in your assignments. You'll find these articles in the Library databases. You can access New Zealand Standards, legal and legislative documents, newspaper articles, and lots of other great information!

You can search our databases from anywhere—all you need is your Wintec login.

OneSearch searches all but a few of our databases. You can search for information in each database individually if you prefer. This is a good way to focus your search, and sometimes returns results not displayed in OneSearch.
