Step 5:  Importing to Zotero (Referencing Management System)

When you are in an CINAHL Ultimate database, select the articles you wish to export to Zotero. Click the folder view link on the right hand side of the screen.

 

On the following page, you will be brought to a list of articles that you have selected. Select the articles that you would like to export and then click the Export button located on the right hand side of the page.

On the next page, click "Direct Export in RIS Format (e.g. CITAVI, EasyBib, EndNote, ProCite, Reference Manager, Zotero)" and then click the save button. The items will then be downloaded to your downloads file.

To import the records to your Zotero library:

Open Zotero. Click file from the menu, and then import. Follow the on-screen instructions. A video has been created demonstrating this process. 

 

PubMed

PubMed: Creating an RIS file and Importing Citations

To import citations from PubMed into Covidence, first create a properly formatted file, then import that file into Covidence.

Create a Formatted File

First run your search string so that the search results represent the citations you wish to import.  Click "Save."

Once you click "Save" you are have several options.  Change Selection to "All Results," the Format to "PubMed" and then click "Create file."

A file will be created and will be accessible from your Downloads folder.  You might also see it in a grey bar along the bottom of your screen. You have now created a properly formatted file that is ready to be imported into Covidence.
