Overdue Library Items

Wintec Library does not charge overdue fines for most items. The exception are items in the 2 hour loan collection. Those items receive a fine of $1 per hour that they are overdue, that continues to accumulate until the items is returned.

Overdue items will be considered 'lost' once they are more than 28 days overdue for standard items, or a shorter period for shorter loans. At that time the replacement cost and a $25 per item administration fee will be added to your account. If you return the items the charges will be removed.

 

If you have more than $10 owing on your account you cannot borrow library items or laptops from the dispenser.

 

Fine to pay?

Library fines can only be paid via internet banking.

Lost Library Item

Replacement

If you have lost a library item you can choose to replace it. Replacement items need to be in good condition and either the same edition or a newer one than the lost item.

If you choose to replace the item you do not need to pay the $25 administration fee.

You can purchase the replacement from anywhere and it can be brand new or secondhand, but it must be in good condition. If you need details about the book please ask a librarian. If you do not know where to look, here are some suggestions:

Paying for the lost item

If you can not find a replacement item you can choose to pay the replacement cost, plus a $25 administration fee per item. To get the total owing you can check your account on the library website or you can ask one of the Librarians.

Refunds

Found the book you have paid for?
You have 3 months from the date you paid for the item to claim a refund. You will not be refunded the administration fees.
