Where to find information
Locating referencing information in Clinical Key can be a challenge. The best way to do this is to click "Add to bookshelf" on the book landing page, and then "View in bookshelf".
To use the citation tool when viewing the book in the bookshelf, click the "..." at the top left of the screen beside the book title and then "Citation".
If you have difficulties, it is recommended you locate a physical copy of the same book and check the referencing information there.

Author: Use the name(s) beneath the chapter title. If there are none, use the names given in the citation tool.
Date: Refer to the citation tool
Chapter title: If unsure, refer to the contents list. You do not need to include chapter numbers.
Editors: Refer to the citation tool
Book title: See the top of book landing page or the citation tool. Check for subtitles. If you are unsure, check the book image, front matter pages, or in the library catalogue.
Edition number: Refer to the citation tool
Page range: See the bottom right corner of the screen when viewing the book in the bookshelf
Publisher: Refer to the citation tool. You do not need to include words like "Ltd/Limited".

Note
The citation function in Clinical Key is not always accurate. Use it as a starting point, but always check if your book has different authors for different chapters (chapter in an edited book) before referencing.

Books with global/ANZ/New Zealand etc editions

If a book is an edition that is specific to a geographical area, or has made the distinction of being an international edition, include the information in your reference. The information should be clearly stated on the book's cover.

Surname, initial of first name. (Copyright date). Title in italic sentence case: Subtitle in italic sentence case (edition information.). Publisher.

Marieb, E. N., & Hoehn, K. (2023). Human anatomy and physiology (12th global ed.). Pearson.

Note
An edition number is only necessary from the second edition onwards.
The word "global" or "international" does not have a capital, but keep capitals for proper nouns like New Zealand and Australia, or acronyms like ANZ.
